Team Bios : Robert Spears, Director

Robert began his marketing career with General Mills and Clorox, and in 1980 co-founded The RAM Group, a national consumer product sales, marketing and consulting services firm. RAM's clients include leading US and European packaged goods manufacturers and foodservice operations, as well as numerous startups.

At RAM, Bob was also involved as a principal investor in numerous early stage companies and was a key equity participant in the first LBO in the food industry in Australia, McFarms International. Bob is the acting CEO of Lifeline Technologies, an SVP I portfolio company. He focuses on healthcare, food, food ingredients, and commercial Internet opportunities in various retailing sectors. Bob holds degrees from Stanford University (AB) and Amos Tuck/Dartmouth (MBA).

Bob's private equity investments prior to the formation of Shoreline include -

MacFarms of Hawaii, a world leader in the macadamia nut industry, produces and markets an extensive range of branded consumer products. In addition, the company supplies precisely graded and sized macadamia nuts to industrial customers throughout the world. MacFarms of Hawaii was acquired by Blue Diamond Growers in April, 2000.

Rheodyne is the world’s leading manufacturer of precision high-pressure fluid valves and associated products for the scientific instrument industry. In July, 2002, Rheodyne was acquired by IDEX Corporation (NYSE: IEX).
